Back in January, our little learners at I.Newton embarked on an egg-citing adventure—incubating chicken eggs! After weeks of careful watching, one tiny chick finally hatched, bringing smiles and excitement to everyone.
Did you know it takes about 21 days for a chick to hatch? Inside the incubator, the eggs needed a cozy 99.5°F temperature and just the right humidity to develop. The kids were amazed to learn that chicks use an egg tooth to break out of their shells—a process called pipping!
Watching the chick take its first wobbly steps was a moment of pure joy. The children cheered, clapped, and even gave it a few name ideas (though we’re still deciding on the perfect one!). This little chick has already taught us so much about patience, care, and the beauty of new beginnings.
This has been one of our most memorable experiences, and we can’t wait for more hands-on adventures to come!
