At I.Newton Preschool, Teacher Rosalba came back from the garden holding a shiny green vegetable. “Look, kids! A Mexican squash!” she said with a smile.
The children gathered around, curious and giggly. They touched it, sniffed it, and even gave it a name—Squashy!
Rosalba placed Squashy on the classroom shelf and left for a week of vacation.
When she returned… surprise! Squashy had turned bright orange.
“It’s a pumpkin!” Rosalba laughed. “We made a mistake!”
But the kids didn’t mind. They had fun, learned something new, and now had a magical pumpkin story to tell.
